You are invited to join us in Bristol for a high level review of the latest developments in pensions. This session is designed to support pension professionals in staying informed on key current issues across DB, DC and with a legal update.  The session will be followed by an opportunity to network with peers over drinks and refreshments.

Speakers

Ben Fisher (Chair)

Partner and Head of Bristol Office, XPS Pensions Group

Ben is an Actuary and Partner at XPS group, where he joined as a trainee nearly 19 years ago.  He mainly provides advice to Trustees, and is Scheme Actuary to several schemes, ranging in size from £4m to £1.5bn assets under management.  Ben also heads up XPS’s Bristol office, a role he took on in 2023, having moved back to his hometown of Bristol after 20 years living away.

Steve Hull 

Partner, Burges Salmon LLP

Steve is a Pensions Partner at Burges Salmon with over 35 years’ experience, recognised in the leading client guides to law firms (Chambers & Partners and Legal 500) as a leading pensions lawyer.

Steve advises trustees and sponsoring employers on all aspects of pensions law in England and Wales, including the pensions aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions, public and private company take-overs and private equity buy-outs, the pensions aspects of corporate restructurings, administrations and insolvencies, as well as on pension scheme restructurings.

Katie North-Walker

Senior Consultant, LCP

Katie is a part of LCP’s pension risk transfer team with a particular interest in member experience, using her deep knowledge of insurers’ member offerings to help trustees and sponsors choose the right insurer for their schemes. 

Katie also runs specialist selection exercises to support clients in appointing professional trustees to their boards, and advises on practical ways to improve DEI and accessibility for pension schemes.

Katie is an associate of the Pensions Management Institute and co-Chair of LCP’s LGBTQ+ Committee.
