From longevity pooling to flex & fix, insured drawdown to Retirement CDC, the industry will need to look beyond basic drawdown solutions to deliver innovation. This session will explore what these may look like and how schemes will ensure that members will engage with them.

Jon is the Senior Partner at Hymans Robertson, where’s worked for nearly 20 years. He’s served as scheme actuary, led corporate consulting, managed an incubator to accelerate Hymans’ growth and overseen a change programme for our pensions business. Jon is a CDC Scheme actuary and his client work is split between whole of life CDC schemes and providers who are building innovative decumulation solutions in occupational DC or retail.

Gareth is Head of Business Strategy & Change for Nest Invest, the investment management subsidiary of Nest Corporation. He’s responsible for strategic projects within Nest Invest, including developing Nest’s approach to providing longevity protection for its members. He joined Nest Invest in 2023 from Nest Corporation, where he was Head of Strategy. He was previously a Civil Servant in a number of government departments, including the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, and the Department for Work & Pensions.

Sophia is a partner and Head of DC at XPS Pensions Group. She has over 25 years’ experience in the UK pensions industry and advises corporates and trustees across all areas of their DC schemes including optimising benefit design, developing investment solutions, improving member engagement and ensuring effective scheme governance.
