Speakers
Richard Giles, Pension Trustee and Senior Director, Pensions for Purpose
Richard is a pension trustee for United Utilities Pension Scheme as well as the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (UU section). Richard chairs the Investment Committee and ESG Sub groups for these. Both of these schemes have undertaken buy ins over the last 2 years, ESG and climate transition where important factors. Richard is also a Senior Director at Pensions For Purpose where he works with asset owners, asset managers and investment consultants on sustainable investing. Richard is also a founding member of the Trustee Sustainability Working Group and a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Pension Board.
Remi Warren, Director, Transactions, WTW
Remi Warren is a qualified actuary and has been at WTW for 10 years. He started his career in traditional scheme actuary consulting and now works within the WTW Transaction team working with clients on buy-ins, buyouts and longevity swaps and is Head of Bulk Annuity Insurer & Reinsurer ESG Research.
Chris DeMarco, Managing Director, Strategic Accounts and New Markets, Legal & General
Chris has worked at Legal & General since 2013 in a variety of leadership roles in LGIM and, from 2017-2022, as head of LGRI’s UK Pension Risk Transfer business. Prior to this, Chris worked in investment consulting and for 23 years in investment banking. Chris is now Managing Director of Strategic Accounts and new Markets. He oversees LGRI’s business with its largest pension clients and works as part of the team developing new markets for risk transfer in Europe and elsewhere.
Kerry King, Executive Director, Capital Markets, Accounting for Sustainability (Chair)
Kerry sits on Accounting for Sustainability’s Global Executive Team, leading their Capital Markets programme to accelerate awareness and action towards a global sustainable financial system. This includes running the A4S Asset Owners Network for pension fund chairs, supporting their commitments to embed sustainability into their strategic and investment decisions; convening senior finance to address specific challenges faced by the financial sector; and leading on guidance to scale up adoption of sustainable action by pension scheme trustees and finance within the banking and insurance sectors.
Kerry rejoined A4S in 2017 to drive support for and adoption across a global CFO community of the recommendations of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and has worked on numerous sustainability initiatives of His Majesty King Charles III.
