Jack Sharman
Principal, Barnett Waddingham LLP
Jack is a scheme actuary with particular expertise in innovations in the risk settlement market, having been closely involved in Barnett Waddingham’s work in relation to capital-backed consolidation vehicles since their inception. He was lead adviser on the landmark transaction between the Church Mission Society Pension Scheme and Clara-Pensions, a first-of-its-kind ‘connected covenant’ superfund transfer.
Jack Gillions
Senior Associate, Burges Salmon LLP
Jack is a senior associate in the Pensions and Lifetime Savings team at Burges Salmon. He works on a wide range of DC and DB matters for both trustees and employers. He has a particular interest in pensions investment matters, including illiquid investments for DC schemes and ESG issues. He also has experience working on projects such as liability management, bulk transfers, buy-ins / buy-outs and alternatives to buy-out.
Demi Ho
Business Development Manager, Clara-Pensions
Demi is a member of the Business Development team at Clara-Pensions. Demi’s focus is on supporting the transaction process for schemes looking to transfer their members to Clara. She is also responsible for implementing Clara’s business development strategy and fostering Clara’s strategic relationships with industry stakeholders. Demi started her career at LCP as a pensions consultant and is a qualified actuary.
Jonathan Hazlett (Chair)
Managing Director, Open Trustees
Jonathan is the Managing Director of Open Trustees and the Head of Pensions at international law firm, Osborne Clarke.
As well as being a pension lawyer for over 25 years, Jonathan acts as an independent trustee of schemes ranging from £20 million to £2 billion. He is particularly known for his specialism in PPF matters arising out of Open Trustees’ longstanding membership of the PPF’s panel of approved trustees.
Jonathan has also been deeply involved in the DB superfund market having advised the trustees of the Debenhams Retirement Scheme on its transaction with Clara-Pensions in March 2024 as well as advising Clara on its transaction with the Wates Pension Fund in December 2024.
